Lat year I was loath to join the Lewis bashing chorus, rather, I was prepared to admire the under pressure rookie in a difficult situation.

However, it would have been a lot easier for Hamilton to answer ITV’s Louise Goodman’s question of “What happened”, with a simple….”I made a mistake”.

Lewis’s long winded, round-about, it was not a racing incident, it was something else, Kimi just stopped, I could not avoid the Ferrari, monologue was an embarrassment. He did not really acknowledge the reality of his error.

I hope Lewis has not bought into the Brit media hype of believing he can do no wrong.

He got what he deserved, a ten spot to start the French GP.

This Hamilton quote said far after the fact isn’t much better:

“Obviously, I didn’t want to get involved in their tussle, and was trying not to do so, and then all of a sudden they stopped. And by the time they’d come to a halt, it was too late for me to avoid them.

“I still can’t believe it, that someone can hit you while you are standing at the red light next to another car. I can’t imagine how Hamilton could not see the red lights and the two cars standing in front of him.

I think that Hamilton deserved the penalty. He loses ten positions on the grid for the next race in France, which will make it more difficult for him at Magny-Cours.

I was ready to fight and overtake Kubica, once the lights were green. But I didn’t have the time, as Hamilton crashed into my back and the race was over. I’m not angry. Just disappointed, surprised and frustrated at the same time. He knew that the lights were red. Accidents happen, but it’s difficult not to see two cars stopped.”

The stupidity as described by Mr Kimi Raikkonen :-)

Briatore not Happy with Sir Frank and BMW

While the action was taking place on the Hungaroring, the political side of Formula One was going its own way behind the scenes with team bosses meeting once again to discuss the KERS situation. Trulli Breaks out the Whine Carafe

F1's driver safety union, the Grand Prix Drivers' Association, is concerned about Formula One's forthcoming inaugural night race in Singapore. The floodlit event, to be held on the streets of the Lion City at the end of next month, will take place without any prior pre-race testing under lights and that has GPDA concerned and allowed Toyota's Jarno Trulli to bust ...
