The self proclaimed WCoMS title works in many of the new-to-motorsport nations that A1 targets, India, China etc.......like Marc I’m indifferent.

But if that you find that irritating, take a look at the IMS, the sign reads The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, "Racing Capital of the World, or promoting the 500 as "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing". LOL

Yeah, I noticed Wolf.

I can take it of leave it, makes no difference. The series has bigger problems, like having no American event, to solve before losing sleep over branding and how they refer to themselves.

Texeria said:-

“This will put us second only to F1 in terms of power and prestige,” said Texeira. “We were running with what were really F3000 cars and the GP2 series which goes with F1 was quicker – but not for much longer"

Wow, that is a seriously dumb thing to say & do. With the huge difference in driver ability A1GP grid, the last thing A1 needs to do is emulate the 600bhp Renault units of GP2. A1 should stick to the successful formula they already have, which has produced entertaining racing. Those cars should be the equivilant of the old F3000 or the Renault World series, around the 420 bhp mark. An extra 150 horse under the foot of many of the young drivers of the "new to motorsport" nations entries is going to cause a host of problems that will affect the races & the series credibility.

If Texeria believes that "power & prestige" come from horse power alone he should look at the history of the now defunct Champcar series Panoz/Cosworths. Stick with the old " WorldCup of Motorsport" formula & dont try to be out grunt another series at the expense of quality racing. The comparision with GP2 shows he does not understand the key attraction of A1's international appeal.
